I bought season tickets again for the A’s this year. I’ll be going to about 40 games at the Coliseum (McAfee now…used to be Network Associates…and before that the Oakland-Alameda County). With the departure of 2 of our big 3 (Mulder to the Cubs and Hudson to the Braves), I thought we might stink it up pretty badly…but from watching the first few games of the season, I have high hopes for our new starting pitchers and the two that we already know. Zito is in his usual early season funk, but he’ll get over it. Harden is money. Haren will be as good as he was in St. Louis. I have faith in Joe Blanton and think he’s gonna be solid. Only Saarloos and Yabu worry me…so we’ll see how they do as the season progresses.
I’m impressed with the bullpen so far this year. Adding Kiko, Cruz, and Street has given us a little more depth…and those guys definitely look better than a couple of guys (that I won’t name) we had last year.
Ok, I’m just stoked that we beat the Jays today. Let’s get a little home winning streak going…

I can’t believe there have been so many upsets this year! My bracket is screwed…

Rejection sucks. It’s bad when you’re shot down by a girl or pushed aside by a huge bouncer at a club, but it really hurts when you’ve had your heart set on going to a grad school that you spent countless hours…months…even years…thinking about and preparing for. Yesterday I was rejected by the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan. No phone call, no letter in the mail…I had to check online. As soon as I logged in…bam! The first thing I see is a digital rejection letter.
It wasn’t my first…I was notified by Fuqua a few weeks ago that I didn’t get in…but at least I also got a letter in the mail! :-) I’m still waiting to hear from Anderson and Kellogg…so there is still hope for my business school plans…but if I don’t get accepted this year, I’m ready to face reality.
At least I have a great job at the Mozilla Foundation. It’s been quite an experience the past year that I have been there and the coming year is going to be just as awesome. For those that have not yet switched to Firefox, go get it NOW!
